Elton John - The Classic Years (10CD) [FLAC]
In his four-decade career Elton John has sold more than 250 million records, making him one of the most successful artists of all time.
From 1970 to 1976 he wrote an extraordinary collection of songs.
Those albums were re-mastered and reissued in 1995 under the banner The Classic Years. Below are 9 of those albums.
I have also added in Blue Moves (not in the Classic Years collection) that was re-mastered and reissued in 1996. It was his last great album from that period.
1970 – Elton John
1970 - Tumbleweed Connection
1971 - Madman Across The Water
1972 - Honky Chateau
1973 - Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player

Overview
A deeply personal account of Elton John's life during the era of AIDS and an inspiring call to action.
In the 1980s, Elton John saw friend after friend, loved one after loved one, perish needlessly from AIDS. He befriended Ryan White, a young Indiana boy ostracized because of his HIV infection. Ryan's inspiring life and devastating death led Elton to two realizations: His own life was a mess. And he had to do something to help stop the AIDS crisis.
Since then, Elton has dedicated himself to overcoming the plague and the stigma of AIDS. The Elton John AIDS Foundation has raised and donated $275 million to date to fighting the disease worldwide. Love Is the Cure includes stories of Elton's close friendships with Ryan White, Freddie Mercury, Princess Diana, Elizabeth Taylor, and others, and the story of the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Sales of Love Is the Cure benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Kirkus Reviews
The legendary entertainer shares the story of how he created the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which works to fund initiatives for prevention, outreach and treatment. In 1985, a depressed and drug-addicted John read a magazine article about Ryan White, the teenager who had contracted HIV through a tainted blood transfusion. Inspired by White's optimism in the face of overwhelming prejudice, John befriended the boy and his family. After White died of AIDS in 1990, John had an epiphany. He checked into rehab, got clean and set out to rectify the mistakes he had made during the 1980s, a decade that had witnessed the emergence of AIDS and the ensuing stigma surrounding it. With the support of fellow AIDS activist and gay rights supporter Elizabeth Taylor, he launched EJAF, first in the United States and then in the U.K. EJAF has not only funded programs in the West, but has also partnered with organizations in countries that face particularly daunting challenges such as homelessness (Ukraine), extreme poverty (Haiti) and high incidences of rape (South Africa). John's commitment to tolerance and compassion shines through this testimonial, even as he relays his anger at governments that have either ignored the AIDS crisis or condemned their HIV-positive constituents. The author saves most of his justifiable ire for Bayer, which sold contaminated blood-clotting drugs overseas to save money, and for the Catholic Church, which continues to censure condom use. Still, many of the stories he recounts are uplifting, including that of Simelela, the first health clinic in South Africa to address the struggles of rape victims, and Project FIRST, the New York CityΓÇôbased program that supports former prisoners with HIV. John even relays a surprisingly heartwarming anecdote about meeting with George W. Bush, whose administration established the largest federally funded disease initiative in history. An impassioned plea for understanding and a good layman's guide to the current state of the AIDS crisis.

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is the seventh studio album by the British singer-songwriter Elton John. Released in 1973, it has come to be regarded as one of his best and most popular albums.
Recorded at the Château d'Hérouville, the album contains the Marilyn Monroe tribute, "Candle in the Wind", as well as three other successful singles: "Bennie and the Jets", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting".
In 2003, the album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.[1] The album was ranked No. 91 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time,[2] and No. 59 in Channel 4's 2009 list of 100 Greatest Albums.[3] The album has sold 31 million copies.[4]
Initially regarded as having some good tracks, but being too diverse, not holding together, and being too long and patchy,[15][16][17] Goodbye Yellow Brick Road has come to be regarded as John's best and most popular album,[5] and is his best selling studio album.[citation needed] Three singles were released in the US: "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Bennie and the Jets" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting".
It was certified gold in October 1973, 5× platinum in March 1993, 6× platinum in September 1995 and 7× platinum in August 1998 by the RIAA.
The album was ranked No. 91 on Rolling Stone magazine's 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.[2] It was also placed at No. 59 in Channel 4's 2009 list of 100 Greatest Albums

Elton John - Greatest Hits 1970 - 2002 + Bonus Disc (2002). butchT Greatest Albums of all Time

Greatest Hits 1970–2002 is a career-spanning collection of Elton John's biggest hits up to 2002. It was released in an alternate 3-CD version (as opposed to the usual 2-CD) and slightly different versions in the United States and the United Kingdom.
The album debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at number 12 on November 30, 2002. It spent 67 weeks on the chart. It was certified gold and platinum in December 2002, 2x platinum in March 2003, 3x platinum in August 2004 and 4x and 5x platinum in February 2011 by the RIAA.
It was the first Elton John compilation released since the time that PolyGram, which had controlled the pre-1976 Elton John catalogue, was sold to Universal Music Group, which controlled the post-1976 recordings. Prior to 1992, rights to John's music had been complicated as they shifted between various companies. UMG now owns worldwide distribution rights to all of John's music, while sharing overall ownership with John himself
All songs written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin unless otherwise noted.

Elton John - Honky Chateau (1972). butchT Greatest Albums of all Time

Honky Château is the fifth studio album by British singer/songwriter Elton John, released in 1972. In 2003, the album was ranked number 357 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. It was certified gold in July 1972 and platinum in October 1995 by the RIAA. This was the final Elton John album on the Uni label in the US and Canada before the MCA consolidated all of its various labels under the MCA brand. This and John's earlier Uni albums were later reissued on MCA Records.
This is the first album since John's debut (Empty Sky) not to feature strings on any songs, except for violinist Jean-Luc Ponty on "Mellow" and "Amy". It also marks the beginning of his transition from a singer/songwriter in the mould of James Taylor, Leon Russell or Carole King to a more rock 'n' roll style that would become more evident on such albums as Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Caribou and Rock of the Westies.
It was also the first album to feature John's road band of Dee Murray on bass and Nigel Olsson on drums (along with new member Davey Johnstone on guitars and other fretted instruments) as the sole core group of musicians. Previously, due to his record label's insistence, John had been limited to using his road band for only one track each on Tumbleweed Connection and Madman Across the Water; the rest of the songs on those two albums were performed by various groupings of session players.
The opening track "Honky Cat" is a New Orleans funk track reminiscent of Dr. John and Allen Toussaint and features a four-piece horn section arranged by producer Gus Dudgeon. Also of note is the debut on record of the backing vocal combination of Johnstone, Murray and Olsson, who first added what would soon become their "trademark" sound to "Rocket Man". The trio's unique approach to arranging their backing vocal tracks would be a fixture on John's singles and albums for the next several years.
In 1995, Dudgeon remastered the album, adding only an uptempo, rock and roll version of "Slave" that was sidelined in favour of the steamier, more laconic version that made the LP's original lineup.

Elton John - Behind The Music.avi

Sir Elton Hercules John CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947) is an English rock singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and occasional actor. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin as his songwriter partner since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums to date.
In his five-decade career John has sold more than 250 million records, making him one of the most successful artists of all time.[1] His single "Candle in the Wind 1997" has sold over 33 million copies worldwide, and is the best selling single in the history of the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100.[2][3] He has more than 50 Top 40 hits, including seven consecutive No. 1 US albums, 56 Top 40 singles, 16 Top 10, four No. 2 hits, and nine No. 1 hits. He has received six Grammy Awards, four Brit Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2004. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked him Number 49 on its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.[4]
John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.[5] Having been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1996, John received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II for "services to music and charitable services" in 1998.[6] John has performed at a number of royal events, such as the funeral of Princess Diana at Westminster Abbey in 1997, the Party at the Palace in 2002 and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace in 2012.[7][8]
He has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s.[9] In 1992, he established the Elton John AIDS Foundation and a year later began hosting the annual Academy Award Party, which has since become one of the highest-profile Oscar parties in the Hollywood film industry. Since its inception, the foundation has raised over $200 million.[10]
John entered into a civil partnership with David Furnish on 21 December 2005 and continues to be a champion for LGBT social movements. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him as the most successful male solo artist on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists" (third overall, behind only The Beatles and Madonna).[11]
John has been associated with AIDS charities since the deaths of his friends Ryan White and Freddie Mercury, raising large amounts of money and using his public profile to raise awareness of the disease. For example, in 1986 he joined with Dionne Warwick, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder to record the single "That's What Friends Are For", with all profits being donated to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. The song won John and the others the Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (as well as Song of the Year for its writers, Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager). In April 1990, John performed "Skyline Pigeon" at the funeral of White, a teenage haemophiliac he had befriended.
John founded the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 as a charity to fund programmes for HIV/AIDS prevention, for the elimination of prejudice and discrimination against HIV/AIDS-affected individuals, and for providing services to people living with or at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. This cause continues to be one of his personal passions. In early 2006, John donated the smaller of two bright-red Yamaha pianos from his Las Vegas, Nevada show to auction on eBay to raise public awareness and funds for the foundation.
To raise money for his AIDS charity, John hosts annually a glamorous White Tie & Tiara Ball, to which many famous celebrities are invited. On 28 June 2007, the 9th annual White Tie & Tiara Ball took place. The menu consisted of a truffle soufflé followed by Surf and Turf (filet mignon with Maine lobster tail) and a giant Knickerbocker glory ice cream. An auction followed the dinner held by Stephen Fry. A Rolls Royce ‘Phantom’ drophead coupe and a piece of Tracey Emin's artwork both raised £800,000 for the charity fund, with the total amount raised reaching £3.5 million.[144] Later on in the event, John sang "Delilah" with Tom Jones and "Big Spender" with Shirley Bassey.[145] Tickets for the Ball cost £1,000 a head. The event raised £4.6 million for his AIDS Foundation in 2006.[146]

"Circle of Life" is a song from Disney's 1994 animated film The Lion King, composed by Elton John with lyrics by Tim Rice.[2] The song was performed by Carmen Twillie (female vocals) and Lebo M (opening Zulu vocals) as the film's opening song.[3] Elton John also sang a pop version of the song with the London Community Gospel Choir which was included in the film's soundtrack and made into a music video. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song in 1994 along with two other songs from The Lion King: "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Hakuna Matata".[4][5] "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" won the award.[4] The song reached #11 in the UK and #18 in the US.
The song is also featured frequently in attractions that include The Lion King at Disney theme parks, such as parades.

MaxiMusic Pop Oldies E - Eagles , Elton John , Elvis Presley , Eric Clapton & MORE
MaxiMusic - The Ultimate Oldies Collection
MaxiMusic is a massive MP3 collection containing over ten thousand oldies, alphabetized and divided into bite-size chunks ready for your listening pleasure. The collection is a time capsule that starts with classical tracks from the early nineteenth century, covering all decades up to the twentieth century. If a song was a hit between 1910 - 2000, there is a good chance it is in here. Although most songs are American and British, there are tastes of international music from around the globe.
This collection belongs to an actual working radio DJ with over 50 years' experience in the music business. He has painstakingly collected these songs from 78 RPM vinyl, reel-to-reel tape, 8-tracks, cassettes, CD's and the early days of MP3. These are used on a weekly request-based radio discotheque show. These songs are quality handpicks that people call in to request airplay: this is not some random jumble of garbage music thrown into a torrent just to rack up seeding credits on a tracker. You will notice some famous artists with only a few songs: he only included what listeners wanted to hear!
This collection contains nearly all the songs from the "Now That's What I Call Music!" compilations released until the year 2000, but this has many rare and hard to find treasures you will find anywhere else on the internet. The artist names in the title of this torrent give a sampling of some the major artists whose hits are in this collection, but there are many more. The tags have been carefully named by the DJ for artist and title.
To view the songs, use this website's view file names function. The letter of the alphabet and part of the alphabet it contains also noted. Search for the word "MaxiMusic" in this site's search engine. Please seed, check back regularly as new pieces become available, mention this on blogs and websites, and tell your family and friends about this great collection! This collection is very big, so please be patient in the beginning, and remember, the more seeders, the faster your fellow fans can enjoy this gold mine of oldies hits! The total size is about 60GB when the entire collection is downloaded.
(NOTE: The description for each piece of this collection is the same, so you don't have to read this every time.) Due to technical issues, some letters will be skipped at first. But it is my plan to come back and fill them in.

ELTON JOHN / Dick James Demos -- Volume 1 and some of 2
These songs featured ex-Bluesology band member Reg Dwight,in his
first recordings as a solo artist....using his new name Elton John.
All of these tracks were recorded between 1967 and 1969, produced by Dick James
and written as usual by Bernie Taupin -- who still works with Elton in 2013.
A lot of these are interesting early Elton songs, most of which have yet
to be digitally remastered. They probably weren't because they're all demos,
so the audio quality varies.
I looked long and hard around the Internet for these earlier in the week,
but managed to find this and Volume 3. I had some of Volume 2 from last year,
which is why they're at 320K while the rest of these someone encoded
at bit rates in the low 300s. Doing these as lossless wouldn't have helped!

ELTON JOHN / Dick James Demos -- Vol. 3 plus lossless singles
Several of the songs from this volume are piano-only demos,
and the audio quality is equal to and in some cases worse than
the previous volumes. I decided to post this under FLAC even though
most of the tracks are Mp3. Why? Because it wouldn't let me post
in the MUSIC category as I did with Volume 1 earlier. However...
....I also included 6 tracks in M4a Apple Lossless format of
successful singles released before Elton John's first LP album
"Empty Sky" and a few of those were included on the CD re-release
of that album decades later. The others are from a 1992 Rare Tracks CD.
